THE FOUNDER

Paulo Gomes, the man behind the ideation and creation of Itenkauri Eco Resort, is a global business leader, active environmentalist and a key political actor in Guinea Bissau. He is also the chairman of the Bioguinea Foundation – which aims to promote conservation, improvement, and preservation of the biodiversity of Guinea Bissau, as well as to promote sustainable development that supports the conservation works.

Fervent and passionate about the conservation of the natural wildlife and flora and fauna, Paulo also hopes to educate and bring to awareness the environmental issues of the beautiful and boundless biodiversity in Guinea Bissau through Bioguinea Foundation.

In Guinea Bissau, he is joining rhetoric to practice by creating an experimental center that brings together island communities, national and foreign researchers around training and creating green jobs in the protected Bijagós islands. This center is the Center of Excellence and is located in the center of the first luxury eco resort, Itenkauri.
